Business challenge

KFE wanted to deliver online tests through a platform that was accessible to users with varying levels of technical literacy. The aim was to develop an easy-to-navigate, intuitive platform that simplified course enrolment and offered an engaging learning experience.

Technical  Challenge

The core technical challenge was to engineer a smooth enrolment process that could efficiently handle both first-time and returning students with varying degrees of digital savviness. We had to construct a system that could auto-identify returning students and guide new users seamlessly.

Solution

We redesigned the user interface to focus on functionality, stripping back unnecessary elements and features to make navigation straightforward and intuitive.

To solve the enrolment issue, we customised an existing plugin to send an invitation email with a direct link to the relevant course. This approach streamlined the process for both new and existing users, while significantly reducing administrative tasks for the KFE staff.

We also modified the exam format to feature one question per page, randomly selected from a bank of easy, medium, and hard questions. The questions are weighted and presented in a random order for each participant to minimise cheating.

Technical Details

The platform runs on Moodle, supported by PHP and MySQL, amongst other technologies. Our choice of technology ensures reliable and efficient performance, reflecting our commitment to providing a quality service.
